Every donation helps us directly support children and their families who need our help. As a self-funded charity, we receive no Government funding, so your support is vital.

We are turning away families who need our help due to lack of resources, including trained volunteers.

would enable a family to receive an initial visit to assess their needs and tailor a support package.

would allow one family to attend a weekly family group, for one month, where parents and children can seek support in a safe, non-judgemental environment.

provides 9 months of weekly, 1:1 home-visiting support for a vulnerable family with young children who have been affected by domestic abuse.

Payroll giving

A great way to make a difference and support Home-Start Herts

Payroll giving, also known as Give As you Earn, is a simple and tax efficient way for you to make a monthly donation to a charity through your pay. Payroll giving gives you immediate tax relief so it will cost you less to give more.

For employees

Ask your employers if there is a HMRC approved payroll scheme in place or ask them to register with HMRC approved payroll giving agency to get started.

Benefits

• Effortless giving – It’s easy to set up and manage through your employer. How much you donate is up to you.
• Tax efficient – Donations are taken before tax. The amount of tax relief depends on the rate of tax you pay (e.g. if in England and Wales, a £10 donation will only cost you £8 if you are standard taxpayer). For more information, please visit the gov.uk.website.
• Changing jobs – if you change employer remember to sign up with your new employer.
• Match fund – Some employers may match fund your payroll giving donation.

As a way of raising additional money at our events we hold live auctions to engage our audiences and raise funds.

We are always on the lookout for prizes, whether large or small, they are invaluable to us, and the money raised really does make a difference to the children and families we support.
